Paul R. Klein, 85, Dickinson, died Friday, February 5, 2021 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Paul’s funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Gaylund Olson officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Paul Richard Klein was born at home on October 30, 1935 in Burt, the son of Richard and Lena (Dittus) Klein. He was the youngest of six children. He attended school through the eighth grade at a country school, while helping on the family farm.
On December 30, 1960, Paul married the love of his life, Mildred “Millie” Schwenk in Hebron, and to this union two children, Glen and Julie were born. He worked as a mechanic for West Plains Electric until his retirement in 1997.
Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, traveling, and most of all time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a jack-of-all trades. He enjoyed restoring tractors and talking tractors with his coffee buddy, Ed Hartman.
Paul is survived by his loving and caring wife of 60 years, Millie; children, Glen (Cindy) Klein, Dickinson, and Julie (Barry Ehresman) Klein, Dickinson; grandchildren, Lacey (Chris) Marsh, Lance Klein, and Laynee (Jonathan) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Nevaya Ehresman, Rilyn and Vance Taylor; in-laws, Sharmaine Klein and Wilbert Mayer; and his cat, Nylah who was always by his side.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Ehresman; parents; and siblings, Irene Mayer, Tillie Kindsvogel, Lorraine Schultz, Agnes Mayer, Les Klein and infant Florence.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the donors choice.
