Pauline Rebel, 89, Dickinson, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. Pauline’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Joshua Ehli as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & Vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Pauline Obrigewitsch was born March 15, 1922 in Dickinson, the daughter of Xavier and Magdaline (Kuntz) Obrigewitsch. She was raised and educated in the Dickinson area.
Pauline married Nick Rebel on November 9, 1942, and together they farmed north of Mott until the late 1990’s, at which time they moved into Dickinson. Her husband, Nick died in February of 1994.
She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, loved to read, and spelling bees.
Pauline is survived by her six children, Ronald Rebel, Bismarck, Phillip Rebel, Mott, Phyllis Lasher, Fargo, Howard (Debbie) Rebel, Boise, Okla., Paulette (Wade) Steen, Casselton, and Kathleen (Bryan) Aman, Butte, Mont.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Rose Grinsteinner, Arizona, Tillie Jordan, Dickinson, Mae Greff, Dickinson, and Jean Schmidt, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son, James, and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Rebel.
