Peter T. Wagner, 95, Glen Ullin, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Marian Manor Care Center, Glen Ullin. Peter’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. CT, Monday, February 20, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin with Fr. Gary Benz as celebrant. Inurnment will take place the Assumption Abbey Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT on Monday at the church with a rosary at 10:30 a.m. CT.

Peter Wagner the son of Peter Wagner and Rose (Nagel) Wagner was born in Glen Ullin on December 12, 1927. He grew up on a farm in the Haymarsh Community. Graduating from eighth grade at St. Clement’s Catholic School. He graduated from Assumption Abbey High School. After which he joined Assumption Abbey as a lay brother, for 17 years living the Benedictine motto of work and pray. He was in charge of the carpenter shop doing wood work projects such as cabinet making and maintenance. He enlisted in architectural drafting course at Wahpeton School of Science in 1968-1969 after which he was employed by Koch-Hazard and Associates architects as a draftsman. He moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida in 1972. He was hired as a draftsman for “Design Build Systems” a local construction contracting company until he retired in 1991, after which he became self-employed with his wife Sylvia. All of his adult life he continued to design, make and installing specialty cabinets until he came back to Glen Ullin to an apartment at Marian Manor in September 2019.

He met his future wife, Sylvia Firth who was a widow with four grown children. They married on December 24, 1977. She was Peter’s best helper making cabinets.

Peter’s living siblings are Theodore “Ted” at Marian Manor Apartments, Glen Ullin, Cecilia (Baumgartner) Wagner, Hillsboro, Edwin “Ed” Wagner, Hollidaysburg, PA and Claire (Wagner) Leuch Laffete, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Assumption Abbey, Richardton.
