Rachel M. Krebs, 27, Dickinson, ND, died Monday, June 18, 2007 at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, MN. Rachel’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Basil Atwell, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Rachel Marie Krebs was born October 30, 1979 in Dickinson, the daughter of Rose Krebs and Russell Jassek. She was raised and educated in Dickinson and graduated from Dickinson High School in 2000. For the past ten years she has worked at the Dairy Barn.
Rachel has been involved and very active in Special Olympics for the past 18 years. While participating she was on several Gold Medal teams at the State Games as well as earning many medals as an individual. Rachel attended the first ever National Games in 2006 and was on the undefeated Gold Medal winning volleyball team. She was the best fundraising athlete they’ve ever had.
Rachel was a very outgoing, energetic and caring person who loved to be with others and had a special sense of humor. She enjoyed music, car races and Monster Trucks, was a fan of Hulk Hogan, Alf and Winnie the Pooh. Rachel loved her pets and certain special items that she carried with her at all times. Making key chains out of leather and beads and giving them to friends brought her much enjoyment. She looked forward to traveling, riding bike and playing cards with her game of choice being “Golf”.
Rachel is survived by her parents, Rose and Russell, Dickinson; her fiancé, Art J. Carlson, Dickinson; grandparents, Elmer and Lydia Krebs, Dickinson; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Krebs; and her grandparents, Anton L. and Doris Jassek.
