Rachelle Rae Johnson was born on September 10, 1972 in Hazen, the daughter of Sherman and Jan (Halstenson) Johnson. She grew up in Hazen and graduated from Hazen High School in 1991. Following graduation, Rachelle moved to Bismarck to pursue travel education. Once she completed her training in Bismarck, she moved to Rapid City and worked for CBI International Travel. She moved to Dickinson in 1997 to work for Rosenbluth International Travel. She was most recently working as a paraprofessional at Lincoln Elementary School.

Rachelle and Scot were married in 1998. They were blessed with their first daughter, Afton, in 2001. She became a stay at home mom in 2002. In 2007, to the delight of everyone, Tayah joined their family.

She loved her beautiful daughters more than life. They were her world and she was so proud of them. Being a mom was her biggest dream, she felt so blessed with both girls.

Rachelle loved her dogs too. Her special pets, Buddy, Shanoah, Skeeter and Barrington were definitely part of the family. She never felt you could have too many dogs.

She was also a special part of the Wolden Family . . . To Matt, Brady and Teah she was always “Shell” and she thought of them as family too.

Rachelle loved the lake and the Minnesota Sunsets. She was always Daddy’s little girl.

Rachelle is survived by her husband, Scot, Dickinson; her daughters, Afton and Tayah Ross, Dickinson; her dad, Sherman Johnson, Hazen; sisters-in-law, Cari (Jerry) Obrigewitsch, Dickinson; Bobbi (Ryan) Elkin, Dickinson; nieces and nephew, Mya, Jace, Jozie and Eden Elkin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jan Johnson; and her grandparents.
