Doug loved sports, especially football and golf. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan until his final day. He worked many years in safety for Conoco Phillips, but moved from that career when he moved to North Dakota with his family in 1997. For several years, Doug was a General Manager for the Best Western in Dickinson where he met many friends that he still had to this day. Doug was known as a cowboy at heart, one heck of a dancer, and the life of the party. His daughter and granddaughters were the lights of his life and he loved being near them and watching their family grow.

Ralph “Doug” is survived by his daughter, Shawna (Matthew) Davenport; granddaughters, Phoenix Pickle Heim and Huntley Davenport; sister, Cindy (Jerry) Southern, Colorado; nephews, Brian and Christopher Southern; and many other loving extended family members. Doug was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
