Ray W. Foreman, 96, long time resident of Dickinson died Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Ray’s funeral service will be Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Interment will take place at the Dickinson Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Ladbury Funeral Service, visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church.

Ray Wesley Foreman was born January 28, 1915 at Alexander, the son of Charles J. and Elida (Howard) Foreman. Ray was part of a great generation having started with the life of a cowboy, built radar systems during WWII and worked for Montana Dakota Utilities for 39 years.

Ray retired at the age of 65 and spent the next 31 years traveling and fishing the waters of North Dakota. Many North Dakota Northern will breathe a sigh of relief.

Ray and his wife Helen were very active in the Dickinson retirement community. Ray was well known and will be missed by many people.

Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna (Mutschelknaus) Foreman, and a step-daughter, Faye Bohlken. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; son, Ronald (Sue) Foreman; grandson, James (Dawna) Foreman; granddaughter, Dee Ann (Sandy) Buckstaff; step-children, Richard (Geri) Owen, Wally (Dee Baertsch) Owen, Edith Owen, Sarah (Dave) Schreder; step-grandson, Bruce (Jackie) Gates; great-grandchildren, Melitta and Brenna; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
