Raymond Hushka, 84, Belfield, died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Raymond’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield with Fr. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, New Hradec with Deacon Loren Kordonowy presiding. Visitation will be on Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Raymond Hushka was born June 3, 1936 at the Belfield Hospital, the son of Henry and Theresa (Tuhy) Hushka. He was educated through the eighth grade and raised on the farm north of South Heart where he farmed and had a dairy. He had multiple jobs to subsidize the farm income before starting his own propane business.
Raymond was united in marriage to Monica Walter on March 30, 1959 and they had five children.
In his spare time they would hop in the pickup and sight see. He enjoyed butchering with the family every year. Ray’s best hobby was harassing waitresses and toward the end his nurses.
Ray is survived by his wife, Monica; children, Kevin (Jackie Wolf) Hushka, Belfield, Allan (Laurie) Hushka, Chadron, Neb., Bob (Wandee) Hushka, Belfield, Debby (Rowdy Solberg) Hushka, Belfield, and Dean (Lola) Hushka, South Heart; six grandchildren, Kale Hushka, Chandler (Tasha Baranko) Hushka, Cassidy (Joel Espino) Hushka, Megan (Shane) Kubischta, Shantelle (Rick) Petroff, and Derek (Danielle) Monger; three great-grandchildren, Maya Espino, Alice Petroff, and Edgeley Monger; siblings, Margie (Harold) Sundgren, Dickinson, Richard (Joan) Hushka, Newton, Kan., and Rocky Hushka, South Heart; in-laws, MaryAnn Martin, RoseMarie Andreas, Hildegard (Tom) Rothe, Ralph (MaryAnn) Walter, Leo (Rose) Walter, and John Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Theresa Hushka; in-laws, Gayle Hushka, George Andreas, Howard Martin, and Barbara Stewart; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
