Raymond Thorson, 48, Dickinson, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at his home of natural causes. Raymond’s Celebration of Life Gathering will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Ramada Grand Dakota, Dickinson.
Raymond James Thorson was born September 5, 1968, son of Norman and Averil (Ellis) Thorson in Bowman. He was raised and educated in Bowman. During his school years he was a member of the 4-H Club. He graduated from Bowman High School in 1987. Ray was actively involved in Special Olympics from 1988 to 2017. He enjoyed basketball, soccer, track and field He also loved to do karaoke!
Ray worked various jobs in Dickinson over the years. In 2005, Ray started working at the Ramada Inn as a dishwasher and continued working there until his death.
Ray is survived by his parents, brothers, David Thorson, Jamestown and Johnny Thorson, St. Paul, Minn. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Roy Ellis Oakes in 1988, Frances Ellis in 1988; paternal grandparents, Englebret Thorson and Alma Thorson.
