Rebecca A. Olheiser, 40, Dickinson, died at her home Saturday, February 19, 2011. Rebecca’s Memorial Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel officiating. Inurnment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team following the service. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Rebecca Angelia Melton was born February 18, 1971 at Springfield, Mass., the daughter of Luther and Mona (Dumford) Melton. She was raised and educated in High Springs, Fla. graduating from high school there.
Rebecca joined the United States Army on April 30, 1991 and served Honorably to her discharge on October 15, 1993. She moved to Colorado and made her home in Denver. Rebecca married George Olheiser in Dickinson in the mid 1990’s. With her two daughters she lived in Florida prior to returning to North Dakota where they lived in Scranton, Bowman and eventually making Dickinson her home.
Rebecca loved outdoor activities, such as fishing, stockcar racing, NASCAR and camping. She cherished her friends and visiting with them, and especially spending time with her girls.
Rebecca is survived by her two girls, Selena Irene and Brittney Angelia Olheiser; her companion, Kevin Thorpe; her father, Luther Melton; four siblings, Dustin Melton, Chad Melton, Michael Melton, and Kristy Melton; and her grandpa, Tom Albritton. She was preceded in death by her mother; her Grandma Albritton; and her Grandpa and Grandma Melton.
