Rita F. Rebsom, 58, Manning, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. Rita Memorial Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2015 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Pastor Rande Kerr officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Manning Community Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service. Following the burial in Manning, there will be a time of fellowship coffee, and refreshments at the Manning Community Club.

Rita was born January 12, 1957 to Edward and Katherine (Leiss) Rebsom. She was raised on a farm southeast of Manning, and attended school in Killdeer.

She married Larry Gunwall and they had two daughters, Holly & Heidi. She enjoyed milking cows, working on the farm, chasing the cows with the three wheeler, feeding the baby animals and was never afraid to bring them in the house in the winter. Rita enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She also enjoyed fishing whether it was ice fishing, the summer camping trips, or paddle fishing. Rita had a green thumb when it came to those weather cooperating summer months. She had a good knowledge of taking care of trees and always planted an extremely large garden. Rita always had enough home canned good to share with you. Rita has had opportunities from farming to abstracting to construction work to baking those homemade cheesecake. She was a very hard working women and was always willing to give you a helping hand. She was a very open person and was always willing to give you an ear to listen, hug, a smile to melt your troubles, or a wise crack to make you laugh. Rita always enjoyed the time she got to spend with her grandchildren. Whether it was camping out in the back yard, roasting marshmallows, to going down to the farm to ride four wheeler. She also gave them golf cart lessons and she and the kids took care of the chickens and other animals when the neighbors were gone. She will be missed by all.

Rita is survived by her daughters – Holly and Heidi; her grandchildren – Michael and Brooklyn; brothers – Ken Rebsom, Chandler, Ariz., Alvin (Carol) Rebsom, Billings, Mont., Rodger Rebsom, Mills, Wyo.; sisters – Dorletta “Dee” Stroh, Dickinson, Sandra (Richard) Tuhy, Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Katherine Rebsom; brother John Rebsom; and brother-in-law David Stroh.
