Robert “Bob” Simnioniw, 68, Bismarck, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home in Bismarck. Bob’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. William Ruelle as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday with a rosary & vigil at Ladbury Funeral Service at 7 p.m with Deacon Loren Kordonowy presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Robert was born Dec. 14, 1948, the oldest of 13 children born to Sam and Cecelia (Boltz) Simnioniw. He was raised and educated in the Gorham area. He was united in marriage to Gayle Rodakowski and has made Bismarck his home. While in Bismarck, he had a 35 year career with Cass Clay Creamery of Mandan. He was known by many for his love of attending concerts, fishing, watching the Denver Broncos and was never afraid to cheer for the opposite team of others. Robert was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He enjoyed playing Hola with family and accomplished his goal of filling his Elk tag. He was a very compassionate person, always willing to help others and could carry a conversation with anyone.

Robert is survived by his two children, Laura (Chuck) Hale of Fargo and Dominic (Roberta Richter) Simnioniw of Mandan; two grandchildren Landon Hale and Taylor Duben; 11 siblings Pat Eckes, Dickinson, Connie (Mike) Kasian, Belfield, Mary (Dale) Schaff, Williston, Les (Tammy), South Heart, Ed (Sandra), South Heart, Kathy (Al) Hecker, Dickinson, Karla (Dennis) Schaff, Belfield, Erv (Lené), Westminster, Colo., Wayne (Carol), Minneapolis, Minn., Bill (Greta), Denver, Colo., Ernie (Dixie), Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Bruce; niece Lisa Schaff; nephew Ben Simnioniw; and brother-in-law Jack Eckes.
