Robert E. “Bob” Ludlum, Jr., 85, Richardton died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson, with his wife at his side. Bob’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Church of Christ, Dickinson, with Mr. Dean Adams officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Taylor Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor.
Robert E. Ludlum, Jr. was born March 23, 1939 in Acres, Kansas, the son of Robert and Martha (Lemmon) Ludlum, Sr. He was raised and educated in Kansas, where he worked on various different farms in the area.
Bob worked at several different occupations throughout his life, and with all of them he did it for the Love of Christ. He drove semi’s all over the different states, worked on boats for customers at various plants, and most recently worked as a welder in Richardton.
Bob was united in marriage to Desha C. Squires on June 15, 1985 in Dickinson. They made their home in Richardton.
He lived life to the fullest no matter what he was doing. He enjoyed gardening, visiting anybody and everybody, as he would say, “I never met a stranger in my life”. He loved his church, seeing his family either near or far, going hunting, fishing, and simply enjoying life.
Bob is survived by his wife, Desha, Richardton; sons, Robert (Debra) Ludlum, III, Kansas, James (Marla) Ludlum, Mandan, Raymond (Kay) Ludlum, Beulah, and Michael Ludlum, Kansas; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Artie (Darrel) Grimes, Kansas, John (Janice) Ludlum, Kansas, and Caroline Baird, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Athena; parents; a grandson; and sister, Dee Hughes.
