Rodger was born September 13, 1940, to Fred and Elizabeth Fraase at Freda. He attended grade school at Freda and graduated from Carson High School in 1959. Rodger then attended college at Dickinson State University, then known as the North Dakota State Teachers College – Dickinson and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (Business and Math) in 1963. Later, he obtained a Master of Science degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota in 1969.
Rodger taught at Lambert, Mont., Zeeland and Wilton before teaching and becoming the business manager at NDSCS in Wahpeton. In 1978, the family moved to Dickinson where Rodger became the Head of Computer Affairs at Dickinson State.
On August 8, 1964, Rodger married Sharleen Siewert at the rural Newburg Congregational Church. They were blessed with three daughters.
Rodger was always known around campus at Dickinson State as “The Computer Guy.” His family knew him as “The Repair Guy.” We joked that if Dad couldn’t fix it, it wasn’t broke. Rodger enjoyed spending time at the lake house futzing around, gardening, and bowling. He was a quiet man, preferring to sit in the background, listening to others talk or watching others play games. When he did have something to say, we knew it was going to be something good.
Rodger is survived by his wife, Sharleen; his three daughters, Trudy (Allen) Wolf, Anita (David) Weiler, and Rachel Opp; and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Lenora, and Loren Wolf; Presley and Fox.
