Rodney A. “Rod” Praus, 53, Dickinson, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home of natural causes. Rod’s funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Heart. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Rodney Alphonsus Praus was born November 15, 1961 at Forsyth, Mont., the son of John A. and Mary Ann (Rambousek) Praus. He was raised and educated in South Heart.

Rod worked in the oil fields out of high school, but has spent most of his life driving truck for rural sanitation companies, most recently, MGM Sanitation.

He belonged to the St. Anthony Club, Dickinson. In his spare time he enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, playing pinochle and horseshoes, and also doing auto restoration.

Rod is survived by his siblings, Robert (Donna) Praus, California, Richard (Alena) Praus, Fargo, Marjorie (Wilbur) Brew, Dickinson, Roger (Donna) Praus, Bismarck, Marlene (Richard) Novotny, Dickinson, Raynald (Laura) Praus, Dickinson, and Randy (Debbie) Praus, Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Joyce.
