Roger “Roscoe” Huber, 75, died on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Roger’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Pastor Jerry Stravia IV as officiant. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. MT on Friday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Roger Jacob Huber was born September 3, 1949 in Hoven, SD, the son of Edward and Lydia (Haberer) Huber. While in school in Bowdle, SD, he worked on his parents’ farm. Following graduation he entered in the United States Navy (SEABEES) and served honorably from January 7, 1969 to July 31, 1970 and during this time he was deployed to Dawang, Vietnam.

Roscoe drove popcorn truck for Galen Hoffman and worked at Cenex in Bowdle. He met Margie Anderson at the American Legion in Mobridge, SD and the two were united in marriage on September 22, 1973 in Mobridge. This union was blessed with two sons, Justin in June 1986 and Sean in June 1990. Roger and Margie celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary prior to his death.

They owned and operated the Red Owl Store while Margie worked at MDU in Bowdle. Roscoe and Margie moved to Dickinson where he started his 28 year career at Fisher Industries as a truck driver and later as an equipment operator. He enjoyed life after retirement, having belonged to the American Legion, and the United Methodist Church in Dickinson. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was well liked by all of his family and friends that he became to close to throughout the years.

Roscoe is survived by his wife, Margie; sons, Justin (Lauren), Falling Waters, WV, and Sean, Fargo; brother, Lyle (Rita), Bowdle; good friends, Heather (Richard Wilk) Taylor, Dickinson, and Linda Smith, Dickinson; and many other wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Stangl.
