Rose Catherine Hecker, 73, Dickinson, passed into our Lord’s waiting on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Msgr. Thomas Richter as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary at 3 p.m. led by family.

Rose was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson on March 28, 1947, to Mike and Veronica (Lantz) Hecker, and was raised on their family farm northwest of Dickinson in Dunn County. She attended country school and graduated from Trinity High School in Dickinson. She attended Jamestown State College and earned her degree in nursing. After working several years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, she attended college at Grand Forks and became a Physician Assistant. Rose worked at the Dickinson Clinic and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson until she retired. She entered the Evergreen Assisted Living Center in Dickinson in 2018.

Rose enjoyed her work as a nurse and Physician Assistant. She loved animals, especially kitties and would often go to the farm when she was not working.

Rose is survived by her brothers, Edwin (Eva) Hecker, Ben Hecker; sisters, Sister Laura Hecker, and, Leona (Ken) Barnhart; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her older sisters, Martha Rixen and Delores Hecker; and her brother-in-law, Richard Rixen.
