Rose M. Frenzel, 92, Dickinson, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2011 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jeff Zwack as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.

Rose M. Koffler was born January 31, 1919 at Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Dietz) Koffler. She was raised south of Dickinson where she received her education in a country school.

Rose married Joseph P. Frenzel on July 14, 1936 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. They farmed with his parents for two years before purchasing their own farm in 1938. Together the Frenzels farmed south of Dickinson until retiring in 1978, when they moved into Dickinson.

She belonged to the homemaker club while on the farm. Sewing, crocheting, knitting, playing cards and embroidery were activities she enjoyed to do. Rose’s greatest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Rose is survived by three children, Elaine M. Thompson, Bismarck, Joe J. (Sandi) Frenzel, Dickinson, and Rita K. (Bruce) Tomchuk, Dickinson; 10 grandchildren, Bruce (Carol) Thompson, Brian (Karren) Thompson, Patricia Thompson, David Hendrickson, Jessica (Robert) Rodriguez, Jeremiah Frenzel, Kodi (Troy) Schank, Tracie Schmidt, Christopher Hammond and Nicollett Hammond; 12 great-grandchildren, Hope Thompson, Karissa Thompson, Alex Jacobson, Jackson Updike, Hogan Updike, Payton Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Parker Frenzel, Kaylee Schank, Bradley Schmidt, Nicholas Schmidt and Grace Schmidt; and her brother, Matt Koffler, Mandan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe on March 20, 2003; her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara (Marcus) Obrigewitsch, Otila (Charlie) Whitehead, Mary (Cecil) Plummer, and Ann (Sidney) Branham; brothers and sisters-in-law, George (Anna) Koffler, and John Koffler; son-in-law, Eugene I. Thompson; and sister-in-law, Ruth Koffler.
