Rose Sticka, 93, Dickinson, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Our angel has made her journey to be with God and her loved ones in heaven. Rose had a heart of gold and as we all know her favorite saying was “I’m a tough cookie” and that she was!

Rose Hegel was born March 21, 1925 in Dickinson to Frank and Rose (Steckler) Hegel. On May 21, 1946, she married Mike Sticka and to this union they were blessed with 14 children. They farmed for many years while they raised their family. Rose worked various jobs throughout her life.

She will always be remembered for her strength and strong faith. She was the pillar of the family and always put everyone else first. All were welcomed to her home and many enjoyed the wonderful meals that she cooked. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Rose is survived by 11 daughters, Sarah (Don) Froehlich, Janet Roller, LaVerne (Bob) Fichter, Marilyn Lefor, Sandy (Jeff) Kadrmas, Charlotte (Roger) Barnes, Renae (Garry) Bates, Connie (Steve) Garcia, Joyce Carlson, Debbie Zastoupil and Laurie (Melvin) Zastoupil; son-in-law, Wayne Gabbert; 34 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Maus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike, on September 5, 2000; three children, Alvin Sticka, Linda Gabbert and Bertha Sticka; sons-in-law, Brian Reiter, Don Roller, Keith Zastoupil, Arnie Lefor and Dennis Carlson; brother, Alex Hegel; and sister, Veronica Barth.
