Rosella “Rose” A. Ackerman, 92, Dickinson, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 surrounded by family at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Rosella’s Private Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. John Paul Gardner as the celebrant. Rosella A. Beaudoin was born October 1, 1927 in Dickinson, the daughter of William and Rose (Savageau) Beaudoin. Rose attended grade school in Dickinson and continued her education at Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo.

The first time Rose saw Earl was in the Villard Hotel. Earl asked the receptionist who that gal with the long brunette hair was! Rose officially met Earl through her boss at the telephone company. Rose married Earl Ackerman on November 17, 1948.

Earl’s military service during and after WWII and longtime broadcasting career took them to many cities and states…Omaha, Fargo, Wisconsin, Virginia, Iceland and then finally settling in Dickinson in 1976. Rosella never complained about all the moving.

Rose was a big fan of the Minnesota Twins, her “Twinies”. She loved her family, her church, going to Mass, reading, making the world’s best potato salad and hot cinnamon candy. Rose also enjoyed making chex mix every Christmas with her sister, Ida.

Rose is survived by her husband, Earl; her children, Nancy (Marv) Volesky, Billings, Mont., Denys (Cathy) Ackerman, Fredricksburg, Va., Sandra (Bob) Sadowsky, Little River, Kan., Daniel (Marie) Ackerman, Elgin, and Thomas (Jill) Ackerman, Bismarck; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Willard Beaudoin, Dickinson, Arvella (Otto) Kovash, Phoenix, Ariz., and Bill (Judy) Beaudoin, Grand Junction, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Rose; son, Charles W. Ackerman; siblings, Dahn (Delores) Beaudoin, Ida Mae Beaudoin, Clifford (Dorothy) Beaudoin, and Daniel Beaudoin; and sister-in-law, Joan Beaudoin.
