Roy K. Pahlmeyer, 74, Regent, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Roy’s Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Ladbury Funeral Service. Pastor Cal Oraw will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Regent. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. On Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at Ladbury Funeral Service. There will be visitation 8 a.m. to service time on Friday.

Roy Kent Pahlmeyer was born February 14, 1943, to William and Hulda (Witte) Pahlmeyer in Dickinson. He was raised and educated in the Regent area, graduating from Regent High School in 1961. He served Honorably in the North Dakota National Guard from May 1, 1963 to April 30, 1969 out of Mott. Roy was a lifetime resident of the Regent area.

Roy was united in marriage to Jean M. Eidem on November 29, 1969 at St. John Lutheran Church, Dickinson. They farmed and ranched together near Regent where they raised their family.

He was member of the American Legion, the 40 & 8 Veteran Organization, Regent Farmers Union board, Regent Co-op store board, and was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He was a model airplane enthusiast, loved taking care of his cattle, playing hearts on his cell phone, enjoyed horses, spending time with his family, playing cards and socializing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and the companionship of his dogs.

Roy is survived by his wife, Jean; children, James Pahlmeyer, Regent, and Christina (Mike) Bueide, Gering, Neb.; three grandchildren, Molly Bueide, Scottsbluff, Neb., Alyson Bueide, Scottsbluff, and Andrew Bueide, Gering; nephew, Chuck (Jane) Pahlmeyer, Portland, Ore.; niece, Susan Westin, Portland, Ore.; and three great-nieces, Laura, Marie and Claire Pahlmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Harold; and sister-in-law, Joanne.
