Roy M. Marmon, 77, Dickinson, died Saturday July 10, 2021 at his home with family by his side. Roy’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m. MT, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time.
Roy was 12th of 15 children of Eugene and Ruth (Eustis) Marmon. He was born on June 5, 1944 in Stanley. After losing his parents at a young age, he was raised by foster parents, Paul and Opal Whillock in the Donnybrook area.
After serving in the Army, Roy returned to North Dakota and met his best friend and soulmate, who became his beautiful wife of 54 years. Roy married Audrey Buskohl on February 17, 1967. They started their lifelong adventure and raised four beautiful children. Roy cherished his wife and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren who he loved very much.
Their love story began in Tioga area. They then decided to move to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where they lived for approximately 25 years, and they bought a farm place in Dickinson to start a new chapter of living their golden years creating a dream hobby farm. Roy enjoyed life to the fullest. Roy will be remembered for his loving nature, his kindness and desire to help everyone he met in any way possible. Roy’s laugh was contagious, and anyone he met called him a friend.
Roy worked hard at everything he did. Roy’s passion was driving truck. He worked in many forms of trucking and was still employed doing what he loved to do. Roy made many friends and cherished them all.
“Rest assured, I loved my life, and loved my beautiful wife, my children and grandchildren and that’s all that really mattered” God blessed me with all that I had.
Roy is survived by his wife, Audrey; children, Julie (Darren) Kruger, Bismarck, Tonya (Jeff) Stewart, Post Falls, Idaho, Scott Marmon, Rathdrum, Idaho, and Dwight (Nicole) Marmon, Coure d’Alene; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Shirley) Marmon, Post Falls, Pat (Patty) Marmon, Dixon, Mont., Larry (Linda) Marmon, Watford City, Lyla Slemin, Stanley, Kathy Gagner, Post Falls, and Flo Steele, Chewelah, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; foster parents; and in-laws, Dick and Edna Buskohl; brothers, Melvin, Leo, Jeff, Nyla, Frank, Donald, and John; sister, Averill; and granddaughter, Sydney Stewart.
