Ruth O. Rosendahl, 92, formerly of Westhope, died peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Country House, Dickinson. Ruth’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., CDT, Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church, Westhope, with Mr. Don Cameron presiding. Interment will follow at the Westhope Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Nero Funeral Home, Westhope, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Opal “Ruth” Trimble was born October 16, 1918 on the family farm near Westhope, the daughter of Elmer and Mable (Matthews) Trimble. She attended grade school and high school in Westhope.
On August 16, 1941, Ruth married Lawrence A. Rosendahl. In 1945 after Lawrence was discharged from the Army, they made their home on a farm south of Westhope. She remained on the farm after Larry’s death, until 2005 when she moved to Dickinson.
Ruth was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope, was secretary-treasurer of the Sunday School for 25 years, served as a Deacon and Elder and sang in the church choir. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of over 50 years in the Rebekah Lodge, held office in the Westhope Home for the Aged Auxiliary, she was Past President and charter member of the Orlan Cool #6832 VFW Auxiliary.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence in 1990; and two sisters, Vivian Hulse and Goldie Harper.
Ruth will be forever loved and remembered by her surviving family; two daughters, Cheryl (Don) Senescall, Dickinson, and Cindy Mosier, Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Scot, Todd and Ryan Senescall, Lezli Kelly and Rachel Mosier; six great-grandchildren, Shawn, Shelby, Rhylee and Lauren Senescall, Chelsea Althof and Nicole Kelly.
Ruth has answered the call, “Well done, good and faithful servant…Come and share your Master’s happiness.” Matthew 25:21
In remembrance of Ruth, those that wish may make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Westhope Cemetery, or the First Presbyterian Church in Westhope.
