Sallee Wiseman was born to Jeanette (Rutherford) Wiseman and Robert Wiseman on Nov 4, 1957 in Regent, where she has resided her entire life. Sallee graduated from Regent High School in 1976 and married Jim Carlson on June 21, 1986. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful children, Christopher in 1988, Kjirsten in 1989, and Jonathan in 1992. Jim and Sallee bought a farm north of Regent where they raised their family, continued farming and raised nationally recognized Angus cattle. Sallee was the rock of the family, farm, and ranch. She gladly provided daily lunches and hauled many meals during harvest. She enjoyed all the conversation around the kitchen table, whether it was family, friends, hired hands, or the many hunters they hosted for years, her door was always open and the coffee was always on. She often commented that she could write a book with all the stories she had from life on the farm, laughing with every story she told. Sallee was also a great cook, but her most famous recipe was her fudge!
Sallee was an exceptional oil painter, was a very talented scrapbooker, and loved raising flowers. For many years, Sallee would plant thousands of petunias to line the driveway leading into the farm. She also had a rock garden filled with flowers of all kinds, although some of her favorites were the rose bushes her and Kjirsten planted together. She enjoyed spending her free time outdoors, whether it was mowing the lawn for hours and working on a perfect tan, or working on her garden, apple trees, or her flowers. When Sallee wasn’t outside she enjoyed going into the Regent Garage and spending time with her brother, Gary. Sallee was also very involved in the Regent community, including being a part of the American Legion, the township, and was a caretaker to many friends and family.
Sallee’s family was everything to her and there wasn’t a day she didn’t talk about them. Her son, Chris, married Kendra and they have three children, Connor, Colton and Kalli. Her daughter, Kjirsten, was her best friend for 16 years and she missed her every single day. Her son, Jon, married Melissa and they have three children, Ellie, Caroline, and Paityn. Sallee was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she would do anything to make sure her kids and grandkids were happy and often spoiled them dearly. Sallee’s face would light up whenever her grandkids were around. She enjoyed playing hair, doing nails or snuggling up and rocking in the chair with her granddaughters and always wondered how her grandsons had so much energy, as she loved watching them play tractors and football. Grandma Sallee’s house was always full of toys and art supplies to keep her grandkids happy. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays, a house full of family, laughter, endless memories and gifts! She had a special way of bringing the magic of Christmas alive by decorating the house with multiple Christmas trees, so many decorations, and finding that perfect gift for each and every person. Sallee truly had a heart of gold.
Sallee is survived by her loving husband, Jim; sons, Chris (Kendra), and Jon (Melissa); her grandchildren, Ellie, Connor, Caroline, Colton, Paityn, and Kalli; and her brother, Gary (Brenda); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Kjirsten; parents, Robert and Jeanette; in-laws, Carl, and Adeline; and nephew, Ashton.
Please join the family for lunch and fellowship following the burial at the American Legion Hall in Regent.
