Sammy Williams, 52, Dickinson, died following a seizure at his home in Dickinson on Thursday, September 16, 2010. A Memorial Service and Remembrance of Sammy’s life will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Sammy Williams was born November 4, 1957 in Sunflower County, Rulaville, Miss., the son of Shirley “Sonny” and Margaret (Andrews) Williams. He was raised and educated in Itta Bena, Miss. Throughout his life he had mainly worked doing construction repairs following disasters of any kind. Sammy moved to Dickinson in 2005 and had worked at the Dickinson Community Center.

Sammy had a great love and care for his family, and enjoyed spending time with them and also his friends. He also enjoyed going fishing, shooting a good game of pool, and truly enjoyed life.

Sammy is survived by his mother, Margaret Williams, Dickinson; sister, Karen (Hank) Gentry, Dickinson; a niece and two nephews, Amanda (Jamie) Brewer, Greenwood, Miss., Brien (Maranda) Gentry, Dickinson, and Nolan (Samantha) Gentry, Dickinson; and his great nieces and nephews, Riley Brewer, Annie Brewer, Lathan Gentry, Kambrie Gentry and Myla Gentry. He was preceded in death by his dad and his grandparents.
