Sandra “Sandy” Armbrust was born November 3, 1960 in Dickinson, the daughter of Joseph C. and Katherine “Kay” (Kanski) Armbrust. She graduated from Belfield High School in 1980. She worked in various jobs after high school and spent most of her work life as a dedicated employee at St. Luke’s Nursing home for 30+ years until she left in 2016. Most recently, Sandy occasionally worked at her sister’s restaurant at the golf courses, and also baked cookies for them in the summer. She also started babysitting her great nephew Grayson, in October, while his parents worked, until she became ill.

Sandy married the love of her life, Pete Becknall on January 29, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada, their favorite place to travel and one day dreamed of living there. Together they made their home in Dickinson. Sandy was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her family and friends were a very important part of her life and her most cherished possession. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, traveling with her husband, watching her favorite soap operas, listening to music, and spending time on Facebook keeping up to date on everything happening in her loved ones lives. Sandy’s love of family was very strong and even though she didn’t have any children of her own, her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart and her greatest joy was babysitting all of them, which she did often. Sandy was truly an angel with many special gifts and a giving heart and will be truly missed.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Pete, her dad Joseph C. Armbrust, her siblings, JoLynn (LeeRoy) Roller, Belfield, Leon (Laura) Armbrust, Belfield, LeEtta (Patrick) Krebs, Dickinson, Lori Wagner, Dickinson, and Michael (Amy) Armbrust, Victoria, Minn.; mother-in-law, JoAnne Marcks; nieces and nephews, Kristen Roller, Christopher Roller, Laura (Steve) Fetting, Cody (Crystal) Armbrust, Mandi (Michael) Wandler, Josh (Katie) Armbrust, Devin (Morgan) Krebs, Channing (Alyssa) Wagner, Jordan Wagner, Addison Wagner, Caleb Armbrust, Caitlin Armbrust, Colton Armbrust and Camryn Armbrust; eight great-nieces and nephews, Braedon, Derek and Jordy Fetting, Hailey Wandler, Gabbi Armbrust, Kara and Maci Krebs, and Grayson Wagner.
