Scott was born May 4, 1969 in Minot, ND the son of James and LaVera (Giese) Cooke. He grew up in Thief River Falls, MN where he completed high school and furthered his education in Wildlife Biology. He started his career with the Game & Fish and while traveling for work, met the love of his life, Sherri (Wanner) Cooke. Scott and Sherri were married September 19, 1992 in Dickinson. They made their home in Dickinson and raised their four daughters.
Scott worked for the City of Dickinson and spent many long hours in the cold and heat. He also worked in the oilfield for many years where he was an asset with his knowledge and willingness to work. Scott most recently worked for Winn Construction until his retirement.
Scott could fix or build anything; he was a jack of all trades. He built his own beautiful home and garage for his family, starting from the foundation, to electrical, to the roof and everything in between. Scott was the one to call if you had a question. He would have an idea, solution or the parts to fix anything.
Scott always put others and his family before himself and never complained. He would do anything to take care of his wife and kids. He treasured spending time with his family whether it be hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening, cooking, wood working or being at the lake. One of Scott’s passions was scuba diving any time he got the chance, taking many vacations with his wife and friends. Scott loved spending time with his dogs.
