Scott J. Marthaller, 43, Belleview, FL, formerly of Dickinson, died Monday, February 5, 2007 in Florida. Scott’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2007 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Arul Joseph Iradamoney as the celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Gene Morman presiding.
Scott was born on December 19, 1963 in Dickinson, ND son of Marvin and Ida (Fischer) Marthaller. He attended elementary through high school in Dickinson.
Scott married Roseann Fisher on April 23, 1982 in Dickinson, ND. They lived in Dickinson until 1991, in Minnesota from 1991 to 1994 and Missouri 1994-2001, when they moved to Florida. Scott, worked for Royal Oak from 1982 until 2005 when he started employment with Southeastern Timber until time of death.
Scott loved to hunt, fish, golf, barbecue, and watch sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Scott is survived by his wife, Roseann; three children, Jason (Jessica) Marthaller, Colorado Springs, CO; Brock Marthaller, Florida and Alisha Marthaller, Florida; father, Marvin (Bev) Marthaller Dickinson, ND, two brothers, Rick (Betty) Marthaller, Oakes, ND and Jeff (Brenda) Marthaller, Dickinson, ND; one sister Cindy (Ed) Broer, Coon Valley, WI, and one grandchild Chloe, Colorado Springs, CO; his mother in-law, Rosemary Fisher, Dickinson, ND; one brother-in-law, Arvin (Carol) Fisher, Rochester, MN; six sisters-in-law, Renita Fisher, Three Forks, MT, Dorinda Fisher, Three Forks, MT, Patty (Dan) Hahn, Bismarck, ND, Karen (Leon) Kristianson, Dickinson, ND, Susan (Keith ) Karsky, Sartell, MN, and Betty (Paul) Gion, Hutchinson, KS; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Marthaller.
