Sheryl Beckman, 78, Dickinson, died Friday, November 22, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Sheryl’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Jerry Stravia IV officiating.

Sheryl Hiller was born October 18, 1941 on the family farm near Amidon, the daughter of Benjamin and Fern (Spethman) Hiller. She grew up in Bowman and as a child she did cleaning jobs. After living in Bowman with her family, they moved to Belfield.

Sheryl was united in marriage to Leonard Beckman on November 21, 1960 and to this union six children were born, Cwinton, Donald, Dennis, Lenny, JoLynn and Jason. They lived in various places in southwest North Dakota. Sheryl had worked at the Roughrider Bar for several years. She then moved to Rapid City, S.D. in 1985; where she was involved in square dancing, painting towels, playing cards and any games with her friends. She loved her church, the Valley Methodist Church in Rapid City. Easter was always Sheryl’s favorite holiday. Sheryl had a heart of gold and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker, enjoyed doing yard work and loved camping “back in the day”. Sheryl moved to Dickinson in the spring of 2019.

Sheryl is survived by her husband, Leonard; four children, Donald, Belfield, Lenny (Lori), Cave Creek, Ariz., JoLynn (Rod D.), Dickinson and Jason (Tabby), Dickinson; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Larene Mayer, Sioux Falls, S.D., Colleen (Charlie) Gram, Florence, Ariz., and Keith (Cora) Hiller, Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sons, Cwinton and Dennis; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; a nephew; and several cousins.
