Shirley A. Hanson, 75, South Heart, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Shirley’s Memorial Service will be at 6 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Belfield Lutheran Church, Belfield, with Rev. Roger Dieterle officiating. Inurnment will follow at Belfield Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Belfield American Legion Wm. C. Blair Post 144. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, at the church. There will be a prayer service at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Shirley A. Olson was born April 14, 1937 at Stanley, the daughter of Clifford and Myrtle (Moe) Olson. She attended school in Tioga and Ray prior to graduating from high school in White Earth in 1955. Shirley joined the WAC’s May 2, 1955 and served honorably until her discharge on April 15, 1959.

Shirley was united in marriage to Larry Hanson on May 21, 1960 at Ray. She worked for PCA-Burlington Northern air freight in Denver as station manager, Jackson Cartage in Denver as Vice President., Choice Air Cargo in Denver as President. She also worked in a nursing home in Texas, Wal-Mart in Thornton, Colo., Texas, and Dickinson, and most recently at the Super Pumper in Belfield.

She belonged to the Belfield Lutheran Church, and the South Heart Senior Citizens. She loved dogs.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Larry; two children, Darren Hanson, South Heart, and Rita (Bill) Hanson Bohl, Spicewood, Texas; three grandchildren, Daniel, Connor and Morgan; one sister, Bonnie Wolfgram, Belfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
