Simon P. Wanner, 81, Mandan, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Sanford Health Bismarck. Simon’s Liturgy of Word Service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Ladbury Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Simon Peter Wanner was born October 28, 1937 on the family farm near Mott, son of Alvin and Philipina (Marthaller) Wanner. He was raised and educated in the Mott area, having graduated from Mott High School. He continued his education at Dickinson State.

Simon married Regina Stroh on September 25, 1957 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Over the years their family lived in Dickinson, Mott, Portland, Ore., and Terry, Mont., prior to moving to Mandan in 1986. He worked in a variety of ventures, prior to becoming a master cabinet builder (Wanner’s Cabinets).

He enjoyed fishing and especially spending time at the lake cabin on McKenzie Bay with family and friends.

Simon is survived by his wife Regina, Mandan; four children, Kurt (Juli) Wanner, Dickinson, Kelly Wanner, Mandan, Jody Wanner, Bismarck and Kim (Sheree) Wanner, Mandan; grandchildren, Josh (Allison) Wanner, Jordan (Allison) Wanner, Jonathan Wanner, Zach Wanner, Keetan Wanner and Miah Wanner; one great-grandchild, Isaac Wanner; sister, Donna (Terry) Manolovits, Bowman; and one brother, Martin (Mary Ann) Wanner, Winfield, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin; siblings, Betty, Alvin, and Sebastian.
