Stanley L. Sorkness, 87, Dickinson, died on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. Private family services will be held.
Stanley L. Sorkness was born on March 6, 1935 in Twin Valley, MN, the son of Harvey and Myrtle (Thompson) Sorkness. He served honorably in the United States Air Force.
Stanley was united in marriage to Jacqueline Francis on May 19, 1955 in New Hampton, England. He worked the majority of his life as a pipefitter. For the last 15 years prior to his retirement he worked for the City of Dickinson in the Water Department. In his free time, he loved to go hunting.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sorkness, Dickinson; his children, Virginia (Frank) Schmidt, Bowman, Ricky (Cindy) Sorkness, West Fargo, and Farley (Kris) Sorkness, Dickinson; grandchildren, Shari (Travis) Tuttle, Aaron Sorkness, Mike (Tracy) Schmidt, Nicole (Eric) Keller, and Tanner Sorkness; four great-grandchildren, and his sister, Lavonne Wise, Eugene, OR.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Laverne; and one infant brother.
