Stella Mischel, 94, formerly of Richardton, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. A Liturgy of the Word service & rosary will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Abbot Brian Wangler, OSB presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Stella Schlosser was born April 20, 1919, the daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Heinert) Schlosser. She was raised and educated in the Mott area.

Stella married John Mischel on June 6, 1939, and they farmed in the Richardton area until retirement in 1983, at which time they moved into Richardton. Stella enjoyed being a homemaker, loved cooking, sewing, baking, and especially crocheting. She also loved playing cards and dancing with John.

In 2002, John and Stella moved to the Evergreen Inn in Dickinson. In January 2010, she became a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center.

Stella is survived by her daughters, Darlene (Bob) Couse, California, and Linda (John) Zimmerman, Arizona; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and also great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John on February 29, 2008; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
