Stephanie Kay Kuylen, 22, South Heart, ND died Monday, June 16, 2008 near her home as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Stephanie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2008 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Heart. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson and will continue from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Stephanie Kay Kuylen born June 16, 1986 in Dickinson, the daughter of Robert and Brenda (Biel) Kuylen. She was raised on the family farm west of South Heart and attended school in South Heart, graduating from South Heart High School as class Salutatorian in 2005. Stephanie went on to attend the University of Mary for two years prior to attending Bismarck State College where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree and an Associate of Science Degree in 2008.
Stephanie for the past several summers had been a part of the Club House Restaurant family. During the school year she worked at the JC Penney Salon in Bismarck. She was a member of the student Lions Club at the University of Mary and throughout high school she was very active in school, church and community activities. Stephanie enjoyed life to the fullest, sharing her time with her family and many friends. Stephanie enjoyed traveling and adventures, such as skydiving parasailing, whitewater rafting and exploring caves.
Stephanie had a love for music, playing the guitar and reading about numerous different topics. She had a zest for life and always lived for the moment. Stephanie’s smile, love and joyful presence will be greatly missed.
Stephanie is survived by her parents, Bob and Brenda Kuylen, South Heart; her sister, Sarah (Jordan) Ewoniuk, South Heart; her brother, Justin (special friend-Kelsey Rohr) Kuylen, South Heart; her grandparents, Martha Kuylen, South Heart, Nick and Betty Biel, Dickinson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandpa Andy Kuylen; uncle Barney Biel; and cousin Randy Scheeler.
