Steve Doroschuk, 91, Belfield, ND, died Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home in Glendive, MT. A Parastas for Steve will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Fr. Taras Miles presiding, followed by military honors provided by the Belfield American Legion William C. Blair Post #144. Interment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Steve Doroschuk was born June 15, 1915 at Gorham, ND, the son of Jim and Mary (Woods) Doroschuk. He was raised and educated in the Gorham area.

Steve honorably served in the United States Army from December 30, 1942 to his discharge on October 24, 1945. Upon returning to his home in North Dakota he remained in the Belfield area where he worked a various jobs. Steve attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton where he received a degree as a Boiler Operator. Steve had most recently worked as a custodian for the Belfield School system.

Steve was very good a fixing things, many times he would instead of buying a new part he would manufacture his own. He enjoyed working with wood, visiting and loved children.

Steve is survived by four nieces, Helen Botten, Longview, WA, Judy Madill, Billings, MT, Elsie Hartman, Bremerton, WA, and Katie Crouch, Billings, MT; sister-in-law, Polly Doroschuk, Belfield; and numerous friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Matt, and six sisters, Lena, Mary, Kathryn, Susan, Annie and Olga.
