Steven John Bruner, 47, Denver, CO, died on Friday, July 7, 2023 at his home of natural causes. There will be a close family and friends Liturgy of Word Service at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Ross Reiter presiding. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Steven John Bruner was born on July 17, 1975 in Minot, the son of Bryan Carlo Bruner and Theresa Marie Weyer. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, having graduated from DHS in 1993. While in high school he participated in basketball, baseball and football. He went on to attend UND in Grand Forks where he received a BS degree in Mathematics.
Steve moved to Colorado where he lived at Grand Junction, prior to moving to Denver. He worked as a manager and bartender at W.T. Shortys Sports Grill at the time of his death.
He enjoyed golfing, snowboarding, was an avid reader, and loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a lifelong New York Mets, Chicago Bears, and Los Angeles fan.
Steve was a selfless person with an illuminating smile and a generous heart. He had a great sense of humor and was a hard worker who was always dependable. He would help out all who needed it. He was so loved by family, friends, and co-workers and will forever be deeply missed.
Steve is survived by his mother, Terri (Weyer) (Jerry) Uran, New Town; his father, Bryan (Mary) Bruner, Anamoose; grandmother, Cecelia Bruner, Drake; siblings, Alyssa (Ted) Bergquist, Dickinson, Raymond Dobitz (fiancée, Meghan Reichert), Bismarck, and Kyle (Mara VanElls) Dobitz, Germany; nieces and nephews, Alena Anderson, Izzy and Harper Bergquist, Laaden, Nora, Gemma and Maddox Dobitz, Nova Dobitz, and Indigo VanElls; his beloved dog, Harley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Alice Weyer, Frank E. Bruner; one cousin; two uncles; and his dogs, Ruby and Stevie.
