Susie A. Fettig, 95, Dickinson, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Susie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Susie Kress was born November 30, 1921 in Hirschville to John and Magdalena (Brucker) Kress. She grew up on a farm 14 miles north of Gladstone.

Susie was united in marriage to Thomas A. Fettig on October 3, 1950 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Hirschville. They lived and farmed north of Gladstone for 15 years. The family moved to Dickinson in 1965. Susie worked for Dr. Gumper cleaning house and various other jobs in Dickinson including Baker Boy, St. John Episcopal Church, Ramada Inn, Paragon, McDonald’s, and the St. Anthony Club until her retirement.

She was a former member of Christian Mothers, Eagles Auxiliary and St. Anthony Club. Susie enjoyed doing fancy needle work, reading, and flower gardening.

Susie lived with her daughter Ann for five years in Minnesota. She returned to Dickinson in 2015 and was cared for at Evergreen and St. Benedict’s Health Center until her passing.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Hagens, Minn. Minn.; Josie (Gilbert) Heiser, Belfield and Paulette (Bruce) Kadrmas, Bowman; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Anna Nadvornick, Dickinson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas on May 10, 2004; parents; brother, Brother Philip Kress O.S.B; infant brother Peter; and son-in-law Ray Hagens.
