Sylvester E. “Vets” Urlacher, 79, Dickinson, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson. Sylvester’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.

Sylvester Eugene Urlacher was born August 5, 1936 on the family farm, west Rainey Butte, the son of George and Ethel (Thomas) Urlacher. He was raised in the New England area, attending St. Mary’s School in New England.

Sylvester was united in marriage to Jacqueline Reisenauer on December 29, 1954 at St. Pius Catholic Church, Schefield. He was a farmer throughout his life. In the late 1970’s they purchased the Twin Quin Diner along with Vets and Jackie’s Bar. He and Jackie sold the bar in the mid 1990’s and setup an antique store in Dickinson and New England. Sylvester had also worked for seven years for Head Start in Dickinson.

He was a member of the St. Anthony Club, and St. Pius Verien. He cherished spending time with his family, also going fishing and hunting, and long drives were always greatly enjoyed.

Sylvester is survived by his companion of 11 years, Helen Flaaen; his four children, LaVonne (Dennis) Stang, New England, Del Rae (Brian) Jung, New England, and twins, Gary (Penny) Urlacher, Parshall, and Terry (Rhonda) Urlacher, Casper, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence Urlacher, Hettinger, Herbert Urlacher, Dickinson, Monica Peterson, Dickinson, and Jenny Tompers, Minot; brother-in-law, Calvin (Bernice) Dubisar; and sisters-in-law, Bridget Urlacher and Valerie Urlacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie on April 10, 2002; his parents; sister, Josephine Dubisar; brothers, Thomas and Ralph Urlacher; sisters-in-law, Clem and Clarine Urlacher; and brother-in-law, Gilman Peterson.
