Thelma was born August 4, 1932, in Belfield, ND, at the Maternity Home to David and Clara (Bergstad) Brennan. She lived in the Gorham community where she attended the Manion School and later the O’Brien School. In 1940, she moved to Fryburg, ND, with her parents and six siblings.

Thelma married the love of her life, Theodore Bohn in Sentinel Butte at the Catholic parsonage on November 6, 1951. To this loving union, eleven children were born. They farmed, ranched and raised their children in Sentinel Butte and in 1970, they ventured to Beach where they lived for a short time. In 1971, they moved their family to Richardton where they continued farming and ranching. Ted and Thelma returned to the Bohn farm in Sentinel Butte in 2007.

Caring for her family brought her great joy.  Even though she spent a great amount of time in the kitchen whipping up her delicious meals, she was always there for her family. She also enjoyed entertaining relatives and friends, sewing, crocheting and dancing.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Ted and her eleven children: Theodore Jr., Jacque (Dennis) Dietz, Mick (Linda), Cindee (Don) Buettner, Tim, Scott (Jonila), Mark (Carmen), Robert, Teresa (Stacey) Kuhn, David (Deb), and Keith; along with twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren with two on the way, a great-great-grandchild and two brothers, Dan (Irene) and Jack (Betty). Thelma is also survived by several special in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, grandchildren, Jacob Bohn and Hali Bohn; great-grandchild, Calum Candrian; daughter-in-law, Karla and many beloved in-laws.

Mom’s words of wisdom:” Life is not the way it should be; it is the way it is! The way you cope with it is what makes the difference. God is always with us in our darkest and most vulnerable moments, so we can face the present with faith and the future with hope.”
