Thomas Dean Bishop, 52, Cambridge, Mass., formerly of Dickinson, died Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Rutland, Vermont. There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Tom at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Tom was born April 30, 1968 in Dickinson to Norman and Karen (Ridl) Bishop. He was raised and educated in Dickinson where he attended Catholic grade school and high school. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Dakota. He held a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Business Administration from University of Massachusetts at Amherst-Isenberg School of Management. Tom was a seasoned executive who transformed biotechnologies companies with his firm, but fair leadership style, keen business sense, and talent for building high performance teams. He leaves behind his position as the Director of Business Development and the Technology Development Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital Technology and Innovation Development Office (TIDO).

Tom and his partner, Suzanne Wong, raised their late German Short-Haired Pointer, Dookie, in Cambridge, Mass. Tom enjoyed hiking, biking, snowboarding, paddle boarding, surfing, running and fly fishing throughout New England, the greater United States and the world. He and Suzanne traveled domestically and globally for these activities– highlights include snowboarding in Kashmir, Japan, Chile, Canada and Switzerland: summiting Kilimanjaro in Tanzania: hiking Patagonia in Chile and the Inca Trail in Peru: Gorilla Trekking in Uganda: Orangutan Trekking in Borneo: safaris in a number of African countries including Madagascar: fly fishing in Patagonia: snorkeling in Indonesia, Cuba and Zanzibar: rock and ice climbing in New Zealand: mountain biking and eating his way through India, southeast Asia and number of aforementioned countries. Tom was active through his very last breath.

He is survived by his partner, Suzanne; his parents, Norman and Karen Bishop; his brothers, Greg (April) of Bismarck, and Scott of Gilbert, Ariz.; several aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces, Carey and Alexis (Quinton) and their children.
