Valentine “Val” John Bosch, 75, Thorpe, WA, formerly of Dickinson, died on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Trios Health, Kennewick, WA. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends with a time of sharing stories and memories from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Military Honors provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.

Valentine John Bosch was born on February 15, 1948 to Joseph Ralph and Veronica (Hitchrick) Bosch in Killdeer, North Dakota. Shortly after, the family moved to Dickinson. Val attended schools in Dickinson and in 1968 he was drafted into the United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Independence; he was honorably discharged after two years.

Val spent his working days for the City of Dickinson, he was a volunteer Fireman, he also operated Bushy Tail Chimney Sweep with Dwight Hauck, and did various over the road trucking jobs.

Val and Paulette Hauck were married on June 27, 1970. To this union, Robert, Patricia, and Kari were born. After Paulette passed away in 1986, Val and the family moved to Ellensburg, WA. Val later married Elizabeth Rebecca “Becky” Berger on April 12, 1991.

He worked for various farmers, and the City of Kittitas, he also enjoyed working at a local butcher shop. Val was a master at making sauerkraut and it was the best there was if you ever had a privilege of tasting some. Val enjoyed cooking, camping, playing with his dogs and being able to spend time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Paulette; his parents, Joe and Veronica; sisters, Joan Spradley and Shirley Bosch; and brother-in-law, Richard Spradley.

Val is survived by his wife of 32 years, Becky Berger Bosch; children, Robert, Patricia (Aaron) Dinardi, and Kari (Bruce) Morast; grandchildren, Wyatt Bosch, Derrick (Missy) Covert, Abigail, Aeden Dinardi, Raylee, Megan, and Blake Morast; siblings, Mary (Louie) Stradiotto, Susan (Dwight) Hauck and Edward (Cynthia) Bosch.
