Veronica Miller, 87, Dickinson, ND, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Veronica’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2007 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Jeff Zwack as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a Catholic Daughters rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday followed by a vigil led Deacon Jerry Volk at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Veronica Ficek was born March 29, 1920, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Jirges) Ficek on the family farm in Dunn County, North Dakota. She attended Catholic school in New Hradec through the 8th grade.

Veronica married Jack F. Miller on October 29, 1943 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. She helped Jack with the farm six miles northwest of Dickinson and later with Classic Lanes when they moved into Dickinson.

Veronica enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling, being a member of the Catholic Daughter’s, and visiting her children in Illinois, Colorado, Arizona and California.

Veronica is survived by her five children, Mary (Joe) Roshau, Dickinson, Richard, Phoenix, AZ, Clem, Temecula, CA, Ken (Priscilla), Batavia, IL, and Marlene (Curt) Godlevsky, Littleton, CO; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Steve) Kainz; and her brothers, Vitres (Christine) Ficek, Ulric (Clementine) Ficek and Paul Ficek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents; six brothers, George, Charlie, Ernie, Joey, Mojmir and Otto; one sister, Martha; and one daughter-in-law, Anita (Clem’s wife) Miller.
