Viola “Vi” Mae Hoffman, 85, South Heart, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson surrounded by family. Viola’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Heart.
Viola Mae Dolajak was born June 2, 1939, the daughter of Victor and Emma (Roller) Dolajak. She grew up on the family farm south of Dickinson and attended farm school. She worked at various jobs over the years.
Viola married David Hoffman on June 4, 1958. She enjoyed visiting, playing cards, painting wooden crafts with grandchildren, baking, and collecting cookbooks. She also enjoyed embroidering, especially dish towels of which she many sets.
She was mostly housebound for the last ten years, but she was always happy and had the ability to make people laugh.
Viola is survived by her children, Russell (Pam), Rhonda (Ron) Steckler, and Jason Hoffman, all of South Heart; grandchildren, Tyler (Nicole), Tyson, and Tyanna Steckler; great-grandchildren, Adrian and Easton Steckler; sisters, Margie Kubischta and Donna (Paul) Kuntz; brother-in-law, Bob Binek.
She was preceded in death by husband, David, on June 16, 1998; son, Bradley; her parents; sister, Marilyn Binek; brother, Victor Dolajak Jr.; brother-in-law, James Kubischta; nephews, Shawn Dolajak and Bryan Binek.
