Virginia Klym was born June 26, 1944 to Matt and Mabel (Evoniuk) Klym. She attended grade schools in the Gorham area and graduated from Belfield High School. Virginia also graduated from Bismarck Junior College and worked at the Bismarck Hospital (now Sanford) as a medical transcriptionist.

She then worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Rodgers and Gumper Clinic later known as Great Plains Clinic, where she worked for a total of 24 years. Through the years she transcribed medical histories, letters, pathology reports, x-ray, and operative reports, as well as autopsy reports for the local and visiting doctors. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for a total of 42 years. When she began her career, typing (transcribing) was done on a manual typewriter and the doctors dictated into a machine that had a belt as the tape and then later progressed to the use of cassettes and computers.

In May of 1992 Virginia married Raphael “Ray” Stroh. They enjoyed dancing and the Queen City Club was one of their favorite places. They also liked just going for a ride. In their earlier days they also enjoyed going for a ride on the motorcycle.

Virginia enjoyed doing scrapbooking, photography, counted cross-stitch, working in her flower beds and baking Christmas cookies, even the cut-outs. She especially enjoyed their hot air balloon ride in South Dakota.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters, Kim and Pam; sister, Julia (Larry) Ewoniuk; sister-in-law, Stephanie Klym; step-sons, Justan, Wade, and Eric Stroh; eight grandchildren; one niece; and six nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roger; and infant brother.

As much as Virginia loved flowers, she preferred that memorial masses be offered for her, or to CHI Hospice. Thank you Ray for all the care you gave our mother during her illness. A special thank you to Hospice, especially to Krista and Donna.
