Dearest Family & Friends,

Here is a small retelling of my days on earth.

I was born on March 9, 1952 to Anna (Dworshak) and John Godlevsky. I was raised and schooled in Dickinson. Upon graduating high school in 1970, I married LeRoy Messmer. We had two beautiful and amazing daughters, Jessie Jean and Heather Rose. Sadly, our marriage ended in 1989. I went to DSU and obtained my B.S. degree in Elementary Education. After meeting the love of my life, Christopher Quinn, we were married on June 5, 1992. I lost him after by-pass surgery, 14 years later.

In my work history, I learned many jobs, starting as a baby-sitter in my early teens. I also was a waitress, a store clerk, a bank teller, and owner/manager of a little flower shop. After college, although I kept my teaching certificate current, I worked in the Special Ed. Dept at DHS from 1991 to 2018 as a para-professional. I found it most rewarding.

The biggest love in my life has always been my family. My girls and my precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave me focus and purpose.

I was a nature lover, especially flowers. I loved nurturing my gardens and keeping my house organized and comfortable.

Even though I am a small town girl, I have seen the mighty oceans and felt the sand beneath my toes, I have climbed to the mountain tops and was awed by the beauty there. I learned to hunt, to fish, to camp, and hike, and to plan for family gatherings and adventures.

Many have passed before me. I will meet with them again. Many I leave behind me here, and I will watch over them as God allows.

Keep the memories of me in your thoughts. Cherish the love between us in your hearts. Know that my life was good, because of you.

Love Ronnie

Ronnie is survived by her daughters, Jessie Messmer and Heather Waltner; grandchildren, Kaila (Justin) Brown, Shane, Lily, Iris and Jude Waltner; great-grandchildren, Braelynn and Tobias Brown; and siblings, Richard Godlevsky, Virginia Seiler, Victoria Ficek and Roger Godlevsky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher; parents; two infant sisters; and brother, Raymond Godlevsky.
