Wayne Pechtl, 62, Bismarck, died on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at his home. Wayne’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Lefor with Fr. Dennis Schafer as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery. There will be a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Wayne Pechtl was born on November 22, 1959 in Richardton, the son of Edward J. and Caroline (Barth) Pechtl. He was raised and educated in Lefor and completed his education at DHS, having graduated in 1978. Wayne went on to attend NDSCS in Wahpeton, graduating with a degree in Computer Science.
He resided in Fargo for 20 years, prior to moving to Bismarck. He worked at various jobs throughout his life, having retired from the construction business in 2021.
He was a member of KC Council 5477 Lefor with St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. He was an avid NDSU Bison Fan, enjoyed hunting, and fishing at Detroit Lakes.
Wayne is survived by his three sisters, Kathy (Pat) Mangan, Bismarck, Cindy (Fran) Martin, Lefor and Jean Pechtl, Rapid City, SD; nieces and nephew, Kayla (Dax) McDaniel, Jenna Betlaf, and Evan Betlaf. He was preceded in death by his parents.
