William “Sonny” “Bill” Kubas, 67, formerly of Dickinson, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 in Billings, Mont. Bill’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary & time of sharing at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ron Keller presiding.
William Kubas was born August 24, 1943 in Dickinson, the son of Joseph and Barbara (Reiter) Kubas. He was raised on the family farm north of South Heart.
He farmed with his father before moving to Great Falls, Mont. And then to Billings, Mont. He was employed by Big Sky Homes in Billings.
Sonny enjoyed breaking horses, going fishing, and being in the outdoors. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Bill is survived by his son, Scott (Cheryl) Kubas, Bismarck; granddaughters, Jennifer and Sierra Kubas; step-granddaughters, Ashley and Aundrea Budeau; step-great-grandson, Tyrel; sisters, JoAnn (Jerry) Heidt, Moxee, Wash., Barb (Hank) Glick, Dickinson, and Linda (Ron) Samuelson, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; step-father, Gilbert Sproul, Lewiston, Idaho; his special friend, Rose Long and family, Billings; and several aunts and uncles, Ras (Jan) Reiter, Gladys (Lawrence) Hlebechuk, Olga Reiter, Jo Highness, and Jenny Wolf. He was preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts and uncles.
