William “Bill” Pavlish, 65, Dickinson died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Memorial service’s for Bill will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Fr. Todd Kreitinger presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans Drill Team. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday and from 8 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

William E. Pavlish was born November 22, 1942 in Stark County of North Dakota, the son of Vincent J. and Olga (Zelinsky) Pavlish. He was raised and educated in the South Heart area graduating from South Heart High School in 1960. Bill joined the United States Navy and served from June 24, 1960 to July 21, 1960 when he received an Honorable Medical Discharge.

William married Hilda Sticka on June 1, 1964 at St. Pius Catholic Church in Schefield. They moved to Missoula, Mont. in 1965 where he held various retail jobs. The family moved to Dickinson in 1978 and Bill went to work for Continental Emsco from 1979 to 1999 as a salesmen and then became store manager. He then worked as an independent contractor for Amerada Hess for two years prior to retiring.

Bill enjoyed the peace and quiet of the outdoors. He was a great story teller and loved practical jokes.

Bill is survived by his wife, Hilda; their two daughters, Kelly Marie Dekker, Dickinson, and Julie Kaye Pavlish, Seattle, Wash.; one special granddaughter, Kristina Rae Dekker; three brothers, Donald C. (Mary) Pavlish, Billings, Mont., Ben (Mary) Pavlish, Dickinson, and Ken Pavlish, Dickinson; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Olga; and one sister-in-law, Betty Pavlish.
