William D. “Bill” Heidecker, 87, Dickinson, ND, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Bill’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Dennis Schafer as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7:30 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Fr. Dennis Schafer presiding.
William D. Heidecker was born June 24, 1919 at Lefor, ND, the son of William P. and Katie (Holz) Heidecker. He was raised and educated in the Werner, ND area while farming with his parents.
Bill married Angeline Scheeler on October 19, 1948 at St. Phillips Catholic Church, Hirschville, ND. In 1949 they moved into Dickinson where he began working for Builders Inc. which later became Dickinson Ready Mix. Bill remained with them for 38 years before retiring.
Bill loved to go dancing, do some traveling, listening to old time music, spending time working in the yard and especially cherished family time. He collected Ready Mix memorabilia, made homemade Christmas decorations and was very handy at carpentry. Bill belonged to the Eagle’s Club and the St. Anthony Club.
Bill is survived by his wife, Angeline; their two children, Kathy (Kelvin) Faulhaber, and Ken (Carol) Heidecker, Dickinson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ann Brost, Stanley, ND; one brother, Pete (Annabelle) Heidecker, Cheney, WA; and several half brothers and sisters, John (Theda) Heidecker, Fred (Agnes) Heidecker, Joe (Karen) Heidecker, Bob (Carol) Heidecker, Roseanne Fettig, and Alice Boese. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Matt; and one half brother, Frank.
