Balbina K. Roller, 89, Belfield, died Friday, December 23, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Balbina’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant, and Fr. Casmir Paluck and Fr. Miles Taras as con-celebrants. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the church. Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Wednesday at the church.

Balbina K. Huschka was born March 2, 1922 in Dickinson, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Schmidt) Huschka. She grew up in the Schefield area and south of Belfield, where she attended country school through the 8th Grade. During this time she helped local farmers by cleaning, cooking, watching their children, and other chores that needed to be done.

Balbina was united in marriage to Louie Roller on June 25, 1942 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield. They later made Belfield their permanent residence, which is where she raised 12 children. She cooked, cleaned, baked, but Balbina mostly enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family. She belonged to the church guild, and also the senior citizens.

She was blessed to have spent her life with those she loved, which include, 11 children, Duane (Charlotte) Roller, Belfield, Edward (Brenda) Roller, Belfield, Alan Roller, Williston, LeeRoy (JoLynn) Roller, Belfield, Bernice (Mayland) Arrington, Brookings, S.D., MaryLou (Leo) Schneider, Belfield, Ralph (Mary) Roller, Pick City, Georgian (Ray) Heck, Belfield, Elaine Roller, Medora, Sharon Decker, Belfield, and Ida (Matt) Wyatt, Dickinson; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; eight sisters, Barbara Dorval, Dickinson, Susan Reis, Belfield, Agnes Smith, Dickinson, MaryAnne Metzger, Worland, Wyo., Katherine (John) Roller, Dickinson, Eva (Robert) Hlibichuk, Belfield, Rose (Danny) Wanner, Dickinson, and Dorothy Fluhere, Dickinson; and three sisters-in-law, Rose, Beverly and Sandy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie on August 28, 1979; infant daughter, Carolee; son-in-law, Casey Decker; brothers, Peter, Martin, Matt, and Aloyouis Huschka; sister, Angie Nieskens; infant sister, Anna Huschka; brothers-in-law, Wilfred Dorval, Nick Reis, Ned Smith, Joe Metzger, and Don Fluhere; and sister-in-law, Kate Huschka.
